Abramia Collection
This soft red and white Abramia rug is made of high-quality Himalayan highland wool and silk. The depictions have Berber-style influences and this rug is perfect for a wide range of interiors — from modern to classic environments. The careful processing of the wool and silk in a production facility in Nepal is also a guarantee for a high-quality, long-lasting quality product. Carpet manufacturer, Mischioff AG from Switzerland, is a member of the independent Fair Trade Label STEP organization.
Pomegranate
The Tree of Life rug brings traditional Persian patterns to life with unprecedented use of new color combinations and modernised details. This calm and low-contrast piece of art is beautifully embroidered with turquoise and red in the gorgeous Tree of Life pattern. In the center of the rug, there is a magnificent depiction of a pomegranate tree that is based on ancient Persian culture. The weaving technique used in Mattocenter’s new Soft Cloud collection rugs is similar to the work process used in classic Persian wool rugs. Suzani Royale
Suzani rugs are a breath of new wind to the world of hand-knotted rugs. The word suzani comes from the Persian word suzan which means needle. Suzani textiles have a long tradition in Central Asia, where the skill of embroidery has been taught by grandmothers to mothers and daughters. Suzani fabrics have now also served as a source of inspiration for hand-knotted rugs. The most traditional embroidery motifs are the sun and the moon, flowers, leaves, vines, fruits, and occasionally fish and birds. This gorgeous Suzani Royale rug can also be seen in our flagship store.
Isfahan
The undisputed king of hand-knotted wool carpets, Isfahan, is made 340 kilometers south of Tehran in the city of Isfahan. The carpet is knotted again a silk warp, which allows the use of the strictest possible knotting technique — the knot density in the most valuable Isfahan pieces can be over a million knots per square meter. The wool used in the rug is the softest quality available, which is typically collected from the natural wool of a mountain sheep. The Isfahan rug is one of the collectible rarities in our rug collection, a precious gem of traditional Persian handicraft culture that is seldom found today in such high quality. The carpet’s classic Persian decorations delight the viewer from many viewing angles, and the center of the rug is exhibits a stunning central medallion.
