Kilim
Kelims are woven wool rugs that are made in old carpet districts. The rugs often have a geometric pattern, and as a result of the weaving process, the rug is relatively light, durable and has the same appearance on the back as the front. Multi-functional and long-lived kelims are reminiscent of an old folk tradition and carpets may still be made by indigenous tribes. The sister variety of Kelim rugs is Sumak. In Sumak weaving, the ends of the yarn are intentionally left visible on the back of the carpet.
